Workspaces

One workspace per part of your life.

Uni, Work, Free time: each workspace has its own color, pinned apps, websites and folders, open tabs and logins. Swipe with two fingers to switch, or press ⌃⌥W to see them all side by side and drag things between them.

What's inside

Small things that add up.

Its own browser

Websites open right next to the bar. Tabs and logins per workspace, incognito tabs, and extensions like uBlock Origin Lite, Bitwarden or the Zotero Connector.

Windows that behave

Everything you open snaps beside the bar. ⌥-click for split screen, ⌃-click to freeze one thing on a half while you switch the other.

Show all workspaces

Every workspace as a card, side by side, with its pins and open tabs. Drag things from one to another to tidy up.

⌘Y brings it back

Reopen the last closed tab or app, again and again. Deleting a workspace never asks first: a note offers Undo instead.

Auto-Quit per area

Apps and tabs you haven’t touched hide or close themselves, with their own rules for Favorites and for each workspace.

Set up in a minute

A first-start tour with a quick recommended setup. Setup files copy your workspaces and settings to another Mac.

Red dots for news

Notification badges for apps and websites, right in the bar, so the Dock can stay hidden.

Icons you pick

Emoji (searchable by name) or symbols for every workspace, and site icons that fall back to the site’s own.

Docks and frame

A second bar for websites, a files dock for your folders, and a frame in the workspace’s color that makes it all feel like one window.

DOCKlight

Find any app, tab or file.

Press ⌥ Space (or ⌃⌥ Space; ⌘ Space stays Spotlight's). One field searches your apps, your open tabs and your files. Start with & to search the web, or / for files only.

Install

Up and running in five minutes.

  1. Download proDOCKtivity.zip and double-click it.
  2. Drag proDOCKtivity into your Applications folder and open it.
  3. macOS says it can't check the app, because it isn't from the App Store. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway (only once).
  4. The setup tour opens. Pick Quick setup for good settings and three workspaces in one click, or go step by step. Allow Accessibility when asked, so windows can snap beside the bar.
  5. Press ⌃⌥S any time to show or hide the bar, ⌃⌥W to see all workspaces.

Needs macOS 27 on a Mac with Apple silicon. The included Setup Guide walks through every step.

Privacy

Your data stays on your Mac.

No account, no analyticsNothing is sent to an analytics service, and there's nothing to sign up for.
Plain files you ownSpaces and pins live in your Library folder, with a daily backup kept for 14 days and a one-click export.
Site iconsIcons for the websites in your bar come from Google's icon service, which sees those sites' names, or from the sites themselves when Google has none.
Update checksThe app asks GitHub every few hours whether a newer version exists. GitHub sees your IP address; nothing else is sent, and you can see it in Settings.
Source availableEvery line is on GitHub, so you can check what it does.
